Window refurbishment
Since
the company started in the late 1980’s, we have specialised in the
refurbishment of windows and hatches. Although some windows require additional
repairs, below is a generic list of operations that we typically carry
out:
Fixed
Windows
•
On receipt, the window is assessed and inspected. If any damage or severe
corrosion is noted, we will contact the customer.
• It is fully dismantled and all parts labelled.
• All parts are thoroughly cleaned.
• If required, new toughened glass is ordered or Acrylic is cut
to match original glazing.
• The window is re-assembled and joints are sealed.
• The window glazing and frames are primed.
• The window is sealed with a 2-part Butyl rubber sealant injected
under pressure (120 - 150 lb/sq.in)
• The sealant is cured in an oven overnight.
• Upon completion the window is inspected and cleaned.
• All windows are carefully packed ready for dispatch/collection.
Opening/Sliding windows
• On receipt, the window is assessed and inspected. If any damage
or severe corrosion is noted, we will contact the customer.
• It is fully dismantled and all parts labelled.
• All parts are thoroughly cleaned and any fittings serviced/freed
up.

If required, new toughened glass is ordered or Acrylic is cut to match
original glazing.
• New flock channelling is inserted into the sliders.
• New weather strips are fitted (if required).
• The window is re-assembled and joints sealed.
• All openers/sliders checked for movement and action.
• The fixed window glazing and frames are primed.
• The fixed glazing is sealed with a 2-part Butyl rubber sealant which
is injected under pressure (120 - 150 lb/sq.in)
• The sealant is cured in an oven overnight.
• Any fittings/catches and scupper plates are re-attached
• Upon completion the window is inspected and cleaned
• All windows are carefully packed ready for dispatch/collection.
