The Lids4Lend service for hatches was introduced back in 2020 and has proved a huge hit with owners with holes to cover and shipping to be managed.
We've now extended this to Old Standard ports (both fixed and openers).
Having trialled with some of our customers these covers are now available in most catalogue sizes (0, 1, 2, 4, 4L/R) and feature a fastener arrangement similar to that used for the hatches.
These are designed to work with your existing inner rings, using the standard Lewmar machine screw fasteners, reducing the parts we need to send and also making fitting very straight forward.
As these are temporary we don't use all of the fastener holes in the inner rings; typically using ~50%. The covers are generally made from the same 10mm ex RNLI window polycarbonate as for the hatch covers, though as this is in limited supply we may start using old acrylics as well. The seal is a single sided 10 x 10mm EPDM foam which sits in a 2mm rebate machined into the inside surface. The image right shows 10 off new covers for size 0, 1 and 2 ready for use.
Take a look at the photos below (on a Bowman 48) to see what you get and how they are fitted.
Sadly the focus was slightly off below... Lovely shot of the bottle-screw though.
The image below also shows some of the hatch version in use.
For Pricing please see the Lids4Lend page. Please note these do NOT fit New Standard units as the fastener holes are in a different position. When we are able to source some New Standard inner rings we plan to add a range to cover these units.
