New Deck hatch to replace failed original

Custom Deck Hatch

What we did

How did we do?

Our Broom, had a broken hinge on the original deck hatch. Trying to source a replacement was an issue. As newer units didn't have the sizing we required. This meant having to cut the GRP body and redo the lining to fit an off the shelf unit. After speaking with Rowland, a custom option was available, where a hatch would be made to our specification. The extra cost was off-set, as no additional work on the refit was required. Rowland was great with his support throughout the whole process. Outcome, is that new hatch fits in with existing Broom equipment and looks brilliant.

Great service absolutely recommended.

Refurbished two 60 size hatches

What we did

How did we do?

Great value against replacing with new hatches, plus much simpler as the frames were left in situ, the workmanship was outstanding, the service quick and simple made even easier with the lids for rent service which saved me the time and expense of manufacturing temporary hatches.

Thanks to Rowland and the team at Eagle Boat Windows I now have four windows that not only look good but don't leak! A truly excellent service from start to finish. The whole process was stress free and surprisingly quick. All of my emails or calls were returned promptly, a very reassuring experience. Thanks Rowland and the team, keep up the excellent work.

Fabulous!

Made new windows and sourced a hatch for the foredeck

What we did

How did we do?

Difficult to source spares for older boats and the chaps at Eagle Boat Windows went out of their way to help. They gave me some great advice and I now have windows and a new hatch which not only are water tight, also look very smart!

Eagle flying high as ever.

Refurbish two Lewmar Ocean hatches (sizes 60 and 30) and Lewmar Old Standard opening portlight

What we did

How did we do?

Dealing with Eagle Boat Windows is like my idea of a rail trip in Utopia. All the information required for route planning is clearly presented, telephone enquiries are handled courteously and knowledgeably, the fare structure is clearly presented, and everything runs very much according to timetable - definitely a Pullman experience.

Clear communication, good advice, timely delivery

All hatches and portlights refurbished and seals replaced

What we did

How did we do?

Didn't realise how bad the perspex had degraded but the boat looks new and visibility and light greatly improved.
Based in the lake district so all seals have been seriously tested and no leaks!
All set for the next 20 years of service.
Great Job Rowland and team, thank you, Dave and MC

Great advice throughout from Rowland, temporary lid worked very simply

Refurbish Lewmar 60 Hatch

What we did

How did we do?

The big problem with removing this hatch is that the four hinge bolts are embedded in the GRP deck and once removed cannot be simply put back, so I removed the nuts by drilling down backfilled the holes with epoxy putty and when set replaced the base on a butyl tape seal using the existing screw holes and then re-drilled the four hinge bolts right through and fitted washers and dome nuts. The hatch looks like new.

Very well indeed

Refurbish all the original windows, modifying one to non-opening

What we did

How did we do?

The windows, original, forty-eight years old and long out of manufacture, were leaking, some badly. They were all refurbished and reset in their original frames and now thoroughly water and weatherproof. And Eagle Boat Windows were a pleasure to deal with.

Very smart and almost like new.

Refurbished 6 main windows

What we did

How did we do?

Whilst not the cheapest exercise this is a first class job and worth the cost. My old windows are almost like new. Amazing how clearly I can see out now and how much brighter it is inside my boat. Excellent service from Rowland and his team. The hints and tips are simple and if you follow them getting your windows out and back in is straight forward. No leaks so far!

Refurbish Lewmar Ocean hatch

What we did

How did we do?

First class service and end result. I just wish I had some crazed hatch covers on previous boats improved in the same way.
